Dear Child Advocate:

I am pleased to announce that on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, the 13th Community In-Service will be held. As always, we need your support to insure the continuing success of this very important event. This year we are focusing on the rapidly changing role that the community plays in shaping the lives of our youth.

As our Keynote Speaker, we are honored and privileged to return to the event the individual whose vision and purpose brought it all to life… Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steve David.  Also presenting is internationally renowned expert Dr. Michele Borba on the changing society and culture for today’s children. Dr. Borba will offer some easy solutions that we, the adults working closely with children, can effortlessly implement in this shifting cultural environment. After lunch, we will hear from the always informative students representing Boone County’s three high schools. They will offer their unique perspective of what “community” means to them, including the virtual world, and how we as adults can best help them navigate successfully through it.

The conference will be held in the Witham Health Services Pavilion located at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. We will have numerous exhibits from providers of children’s services and vendors. This conference is a MUST for anyone working in any way with children. We are encouraging our elected officials to attend. This is important for law enforcement, teachers, school officials, EVERYONE! We need you there! Please make plans to attend.

Please RSVP by MARCH 5, 2012. Registration is $45. PLEASE NOTE that due to the overwhelming response we have had to this conference in past years, registration at the door on the day of the conference is no longer offered. Registrations postmarked or received after March 9, 2011 will be $65.00. Registration fee includes Continental Breakfast and Luncheon. Continuing education credits for social workers, educators, attorneys and law enforcement officers will be available. We look forward to seeing you; thank you for all that you do for Boone County Youth!
